Hey family,
So for the care package I remembered a couple
things Tylenol and the
vacuum clothes bag things that you like shove
clothes in and suck it
down. I need that for transfers, whenever I do
because other elders
had them and I was so jealous. And the aspirin,
Sister Furniss sent some
cause my headaches got really bad and I went to
a doctor and they
said it was stress, so she sent me Tylenol and told
some things I can do
to get rid of stress. But ya I needs headache
medicine. and Jessica
was so awesome to get the ipod ready so fast! Yay!
and ya i just realized
I have no way to charge it so I need a charge
cable I think. and I can’t
use headphones, but I can get speakers here
super cheap so I will just
buy some.
So all candy bars in Korea taste weird except one
Hershey bars, and
I figured out why. All candy, except Hershey’s, is
made in Korea,
so
they have different stuff in em. But Hershey’s
are made in America
and taste good haha. So I’m sad to say I bought a
lot of them this week haha.
So things in 광양 are awesome. We had
church yesterday and it was
My first Sunday. So I met the ward for the first
time. And it was cool
because I could actually speak to the people. Not
perfect but ya. And
one sister asked if I could play piano and I
said no, I wish I could,
and she said dang I was hoping you could. (why
didn’t I listen to the
Spirit years ago and learn agh) But ya I gave my
인사말씀 (introduction)
words and it was good. This ward has teachers,
deacons, and priests
(these are the young men, ages 12-18 that
prepare, bless, and pass the
weekly bread and water – the Sacrament. In Elder
Rice’s last ward, there
were few young men, so he and his missionary
companion blessed the
Sacrament each week.)So that was cool. I was in
the congregation for the
first time haha.
On Saturday, we
did a district 전도
street contacting
activity. We made a
ton of brownies and did a survey for our English
class. Normally, when we do surveys, people have
no interest. But
Korean culture is awesome because they love
brownies and they eat and
they fill it out. So cool. Last time they did it,
they got 4
investigators from it, so I hope this works too. And
when I ran out,
I talked to everyone I could about the gospel
haha. I love 전도
so much!
So we have this goal to get 1 baptism this
transfer so I made a sign
on the door that has 7 steps to it.
1. We need to be exactly obedient.
2. We need to talk to everyone we see
3. We need to contact all the people we are teaching
everyday,
4. We need to pray for those people everyday
5. We need a really good companion study to
prepare how to teach well
6 We need
to be focused on the work all day
7 We need to have the faith that the Spirit can convert
people.
ya li
love my sign.
We are going to the beach today… super excited. So I may
have to go
soon ya beach stuff yay.
So I love the Doctrine and Covenants (LDS book
of scripture) and I
read a great scripture this week
Doctrine and Covenants 123:15 it says
"Let no man count
them as small things; for there is much which
lieth in futurity,
pertaining to the saints which depends upon their
things"
And I love this because I love the small and simple
things. And I keep
Jessica’s family’s conversion story in my mind.
Every time I give a Book
of Mormon away, I think ya this is small and
simple but it’s worth it.
Just by smiling and saying hi to people, that is
super small, but
we do it, because we don’t know the Lord’s plan
in all things but
He has one. And we do the small things and we
have no idea why. Then, maybe
Years later, it has a huge effect on someone.
Like my trainer Lee Seung Yeob
said to me "Today we obey, tomorrow we understand". We
may feel like
we should do something, but think, “That’s dumb”
or “It’s so simple, it
doesn’t matter”. DO IT. Like the talk by Elder
Bednar, "Think about
it, then do it… anyways". Even the small
things we do for ourselves,
Like missionaries that know me know I pray a
lot, and I didn’t realize I
did till someone pointed it out, and I realized
that prayer is a small
thing to some, but to me, it is my biggest strength
and I frequently
refer to it.
Well I’ll get going. I love you all. Be safe. Take
care of Jessica

simple recipe for brownies? Like not requiring 2
sticks of butter and 8

haha. Thank you so much
