Week of September 24 - September 30, 2023

Spiritual
We had our first testimony meeting as a new realigned ward. It was okay. I have done this many times and I find leaders often bend over too far backward to make those brought in feel great, and often neglect the ones that are the old standbys that have lost many friendships. If I heard "The Stetson Triangle" one more time, I was going to puke! Anyway, primary was okay. Still having troubles with playing my movie so I may have to try something else.

We enjoyed watching the three sessions of General Conference on Saturday.

Dad attended a session at the temple on Thursday.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study, and Come Follow Me study continues daily. This General Conference, I listened to the entire Conference thirteen times.

I have indexed 13,213 records and reviewed 20,320 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
We received the sad news that Mike and Allison's brother-in-law, Kimball Clark (wife Tiffin is Mike's sister) was tragically killed in a car accident on Thursday morning when a semi truck ran a stop sign. He was on his way to work where he taught seminary and high school math. Such a terrible loss.

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan, Cameo, Kaylee, and Wade quickly returned to work, school, softball, and la crosse practices and had a very good week.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber had a busy week with both work and meeting with school leaders to get Kelsie back to her regular high school. Kooper had a busy week at school and is doing well.

Morgan
No news from Morgan

Kayty
Kayty had a fun week at work as they celebrated their employees with fun dress-up days, great meals, and yummy snacks. She did well at her jewelry shows as well.

The Nathan Rice Family
I sent the girls a little Halloween care package on Monday and they called on Thursday briefly to say thank you. They are enjoying their fall break from home school.

Dad's Garden
Dad is busy working soil and planting seeds...plus keeping chickens from eating the seedlings.

Other highlights
I went to visit Mom on Thursday and she actually smiled at me once.

Still trying to get our roof finished. There are just a few things that are not aesthetically good and we have tried for weeks. This is a licensed contractor, but we are trying to not go any route other than to politely request once a week for things to be fixed.

Week of September 17 - September 23, 2023

Spiritual
We enjoyed a great Sunday. Ethan, Cameo and family attended Sacrament Meeting with us on Sunday, and Kayty came too. It was so nice to have a full row for our family. We heard from two new people in the ward. Primary went very well. I really like the sister I work with in Primary. I attended choir practice in the afternoon and enjoyed a fun yummy Chinese family-made dinner on Sunday night.

We were unable to attend the temple this week.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 13,102 records and reviewed 20,188 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins Family is doing well and very very busy. Mike enjoys his new position, though he had some vehicle set backs. Mike made it through and is doing well. Allison is keeping up with both school and school work. Adam is almost hired for the schook cook position, plus he is continuing the movie theater job as well. Grace is doing fantastic at school and is considring writing a book about the encounters with public transportation characters. Josh's foot is not healing as fast as they would like so crutches and cast continue. Sam is busy with school and the school play but he really loves it. All are doing well.

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan, Cameo, Kaylee and Wade arrived late Saturday night and headed to bed. Sunday included visits to Grandma Liza and Grampy Wally, swimming, playing Go Fish and planning out their week. Cameo has many lunches planned with family and friends. We all went to Woods Canyon Lake and had a great day of fishing and cool weather. We found a common day and of course, pizza, to bring the family here together. We so enjoyed Wade and Liz Wallin joining us for pizza night. That oven had been loaded and ready to light since December.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber had a very good work week. Doran is so enjoying his new job. There have been challenges with Kelsie's schooling and her moving to a more challenging school environment, so Amber and Doran have received counsel and are going to bat for her next week. Kooper continues to do well at school. They so enjoyed playing with cousins this week!

Morgan
Morgan and Cassie are adjusting to Belmont Arizona, but are looking forward to the cooler weather.

Kayty
Kayty worked from home a couple of half days this week. She did well and sold many bracelets on a couple of her Poshmark shows.

The Nathan Rice Family
Happy Birthday Annie on Monday!!! She had a great birthday!

Dad's Garden
Dad took the week off work to spend time with Grandkids, and while they were visiting others, he got trees trimmed, carrots and turnips planted, and lots of work done.

Other highlights
Just enjoyed time off social media and in the moment. Time with grandkids is so rare now, and we so enjoyed the time they took to visit with us.
