Week of April 21 - 27, 2019

Highlights:

Spiritual
Sunday was Easter. It was a beautiful day, and I spent time reading Conference talks before church. I also was able to spend time during the Sacrament thinking about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. I thought of all that He is to me and what He has done for me. It was wonderful. I was blessed to be part of the choir that sang a beautiful version of "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". We had good high council talks. Sunday School was also wonderful as we heard testimonies shared of the Atonement and its effect in the lives of some great ward members.

After church, we spent time studying the scriptures and I read the "Come Follow Me" lesson for the week. Dad and I talked about the Seventy and what they did. We also talked about the parable of the Good Samaritan.

I attended a very full Tuesday morning session at the temple. Dad attended on Thursday night.

I had a scout planning meeting on Wednesday with the other two leaders of our den, and Dad had scout planning for a campout. On Friday and Saturday, Dad attended a campout, and on Saturday, I helped at the Pinewood Derby.

I am reading in the Book of Mormon daily and listen to and read a General Conference talk daily.

I have indexed 8986 records and reviewed 17,415 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
On Tuesday night, Sam had his first taste of school as he got to go and meet his new kindergarten teacher for next year. He was so excited!!!
At work this week, Allison was attacked by a swarm of grasshoppers. She has already seen a snake and a bat at the temple, so additional creatures were not appreciated.

Friday and Saturday, the boys attended their ward Father Son Campout, so Allison and Grace had a fun night, doing nails, eyebrows, eating and watching movies.

We learned late Saturday night that our sweet Joshua had fallen from a hammock and severely injured his head. The family at our house immediately prayed for blessings and healing for Josh. Allison messaged first thing Sunday morning:
"Josh fell from a hammock about 5 feet and hit his head on the concrete in the back of his head. He threw up 4 times, his eyes weren't dilating and he was acting SO weird. We brought him to the hospital. He has a fractured skull and a concussion. He was extremely lethargic and throwing up continually, so they sent him to the pediatric trauma center across town via ambulance. They want to watch him for 24 hours to make sure he is recovering okay neurologically. This hospital has a pediatric neurosurgeon who is keeping an eye on him. And I got to ride in an ambulance. 😀 We are doing okay. He should be home tomorrow evening."

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan and Cameo had a busy last week and another busy week this week. Cameo shared this on Wednesday morning:
"Our anniversary on Monday was business as usual as well. Ethan took K to school, then he went to Loganville, GA and then to Smyrna, GA at the corporate office. I picked up K from school, and then I worked until late. I was off last Wednesday - Friday, so there were lots of claims to look at. I am still a little behind with my job work, but will hopefully get caught up tonight. It was has been very eventful for me. I still need to post pics from when Jade was here and pics from Wednesday through Sunday. I need to feed Wadey, shower, bathe Wade, and get us dressed and ready before I have to leave here in two hours to pick up K from school. Directly from there, I am taking her to our dentist in Johns Creek (an hour + north). Ugh. But getting good care is worth the drive. I am sure it will be another late night for me as usual. Hopefully, traffic isn’t too nasty on our way home from the dentist. I feel it might be since her appointment is at 4pm. I fear we will catch 5 o’clock traffic.☹️ Oh well. The show must go on 😄 ... "

Here are their precious Spring school photos

Happy Anniversary on Monday to Ethan, Cameo, and their sweet family!

The Doran Rice Family
Doran, Amber, Kelsie and Kooper had a good Easter and were able to be visited by Nathan and family who brought some of Dad's birthday cake out to them.

Saw this post from Amber on Wednesday. Kooper patiently sits every Wednesday and Friday, waiting for the trash to be picked up...and the garbage men make his day with a honk and a wave.
Thursday was Take Your Child/Grandchild to work day at Honeywell. Dad invited Kelsie. I left early to pick her up and bring her to dad and they headed out to work for the day. Dad had lots of actual work to do, but Kelsie managed to have an interesting time.

Kooper had another treat with his trash friends: bulk trash pickup.

Kayty
Kayty had a good week. Work went well, and she found something she had been looking for

The Nathan Rice Family
The girls looked darling in their new navy blue sailor Easter dresses from Grammy Lorrie and had a good time in Primary and nursery. They spent their day celebrating Easter with Jessica's family, and then, after cake and ice cream for Papa's birthday, took Doran, Amber, Kelsie and Kooper some cake and had a fun visit. Monday,Jessica had a morning doctor check,

and later that night, they found the perfect house and put an offer in. They also had a fun morning and evening at Grammy Lorrie and Papa Ron's house. On Tuesday, after a few negotiations, their offer was accepted, with a closing date of May 17th, their 5th wedding anniversary!! The week was spent signing papers and attending inspections. Saturday, they had breakfast with a friend, and had a great Saturday, riding horses at Grammy Lorrie's and swimming later here.

Dad's Garden
Still doing well.
