Week of March 6 - 12, 2022

Spiritual
We had a very nice Fast and Testimony meeting and primary went as it usually does: unpredictable. Many will be out of town next week, as will the sister I am working with, so I hope its just quiet.

Dee was able to get an appointment to attend the temple this week.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 9017 records and reviewed 19355 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins are doing well and enjoying the business of life. Grace had a choir concert on Thursday night and we so enjoyed their efforts on Marco Polo so we could listen and watch. The Wilkins also finally got most of their Christmas Stockings via mail and opened them Friday night for a Christmas in March celebration.

The Ethan Rice Family
The week began on a rough note. Ethan traveled for the day to Smyrna Georgia on business and while he was away, a sick Cameo had to take two sick kids to the doctor. Kaylee had confirmed strep throat.
She texted us a bit while she rested. Here is a pic of their new little hamster.

Dad talked with Ethan and Wade via Facetime later that day. Both Cameo and Kaylee were sleeping trying to feel better.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber had another tough week. I spent some time there with Kooper on Tuesday afternoon and evening while they worked out some troubles. Kelsie continues to struggle and spent some time in the hospital. Kooper is a happy kid who loves riding his bike, playing Nintendo with a friend, playing with his cars outside and eating chicken nuggies. Ah, the simple things of life.

Morgan
No news from Morgan this week.

Kayty
Kayty had a good work week with a little overtime. She is doing well.
One minor save.

The Nathan Rice Family
Spring Break week started with new lemon pajamas for everyone.

They had such a fun week with surprise daily activities including a girls night sleep over at Grammy Lorrie's and a slip and slide. It was a great Spring Break without having to spend a ton of gas money.

Dad's Garden
I am picking quite a few small roma tomatoes. It seems without the chicken manure, the other tomato garden is starting to fade already so we won't get very many tomatoes there. Oregano is plentiful and lots of orange juice is still being squeezed.

Other highlights
Dad got some block laying done on his raised bed garden and it looks good.

We started the sanding and sealing of the kitchen table. The old varnish had been chipped and wearing off. It of course is more work than I had originally planned.

Week of February 27 - March 5, 2022

Spiritual
We had a wonderful Sacrament Meeting as we heard a dear young woman in our ward who was kind enough to take many of our baptismal ordinances to the temple for us, speak as she prepares to serve a mission. Sydney hears using cochlear implants and thought she would be called to an ASL mission, but she will serve an English-speaking mission in Washington. A new primary presidency was called after the last one served for years, and class went well.

Dad was able to get an appointment to attend the temple this week on Thursday evening.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 7977 records and reviewed 17,456 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins Family continues to be very busy and are doing well. Grace passed her test and has her driving learners permit and is the only soul I have even known that was truly honest in those height/weight questions. Such a good young woman! All are enjoying work and school.

The Ethan Rice Family
Lots of fun dress ups at school this week as Dr. Suess was celebrated. Wade and his friend joined in the fun at preschool.

Ethan and Cameo attended a party to celebrate some friends' birthdays on Friday evening and took lovely cupcakes.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber and family are adjusting to new work schedules and are doing good. Backaches seem to have subsided a bit. Doran, Kooper and Dad did a little target shooting on Saturday while Amber rested and Kelsie baked cupcakes here.

Morgan
Morgan is doing well and is busy working.

Kayty
Kayty had a very good week at work that included 8 hours of overtime. She took a trip Saturday to Mesa to pick up an item she purchased.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan, Jessica, and the girls had a busy week that included dental appointments, return to on-site work, extra projects, parent-teacher conferences, a Dr. Suess parade, and field day.

Dad's Garden
Dad worked through the week adding a footing for a block raised bed garden. We ate sugar snap peas, lettuce, tomatoes and picked and juiced lots of citrus.

This is at Encanto Park Kiddie Land

My dad loved badminton and liked to put up the net in the yard. I never could figure it out.

Other highlights
Dad had taken the week off to get things done while it was still cool outside. He signed up and then un-signed up for social security and medicare. That took forever! He got his new driver's license, got teaching paperwork caught up, and worked in the yard and garden. His first weekly covid test came back negative and was submitted on time so he doesn't get fired. He was called by another company to work, but since they are a subcontract company of Honeywell, everyone must be vaccinated without exception so he had to decline.

I got to take a quick Target run while Dad was at the temple but the dollar spot was nearly empty.

Week of February 20 - 26, 2022

Spiritual
It was wonderful to see so many happy faces at church now that no masks are required at church. Such a joy. And I could understand the primary children speak! My class was a fiasco. So many things turned into distractions and one of the visitors could not eat the treat I brought that was part of the lesson.

Dad was able to get an appointment to attend the temple on Thursday night.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 6936 records and reviewed 15068 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins Family is doing well. Allison is solely at her new job at the school. The rest of the family continues school and work.

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan, Cameo, Kaylee and Wade spent part of their week off camping. They had a wonderful time.
They returned to work and ball practices.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber are well. Amber began her new position at work and got her new work vehicle. She is enjoying the challenge. Kelsie is back with them and Kooper is enjoying life. Amber and Doran are struggling a bit with back problems right now but are doing fine.

Morgan
Morgan is busy working and came by this week to help finish the roof trim work. He and Cassie headed up north to enjoy the last snow of the season and had a good time.

Kayty
Kayty worked this week after a Monday holiday and is doing well. Here are some more pics from her zoo trip last weekend.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan and Jessica had a good week and the girls are thriving. Nathan decided not to pursue the wood slab endeavor and is now cleaning out all the extra wood slabs and selling it and the equipment. They helped us unload the trailer on Saturday and the girls were able to play.

Dad's Garden
Dad is picking turnips now and we got a few nice carrots. Oregano is plentiful and we have some roma tomatoes turning color. Citrus is still plentiful.

Other highlights
We had a rainy Wednesday and a cold Thursday and Friday which meant the final two fires in the fireplace this year. Loved the rain and not having to dust on Friday!

One perk of that cold and rain was seeing Four Peaks in the distance, covered in snow. I had thought I wouldn't get to see it snowy this year, but I was not disappointed!
