I had a very long cub committee meeting on Sunday, during which we combined with another ward. Dens will remain numerically on their own but every den of ours will gain at least three boys. No leaders from there yet...but three boys. I am not sure how this will work out since we are adding to our load instead of getting any relief. Wednesday proved very difficult, though not from our new three boys, but from our Desmond, who had always been very very difficult. We did manage to get part of our planned activites done, though, and I spent Thursday getting a new roster and a calendar for a couple of months prepared.
Dad attended sessions at temples in Ogden, Brigham City, Provo, and Las Vegas on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and he got pics at all the temples he attended.
I did not have time this week to attend the temple.
I am still reading the February Ensign and reading daily in the Book of Mormon.
I have indexed 3244 records and reviewed 3156 records so far this year.
Family
The Wilkins Family
The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan, Cameo and the kids had a good week. I was able to FaceTime with Kaylee and with Wade and we had some fun conversations. I miss playing with Wade in his room...he is alway so busy, whether it's with his toy horses, or big cars, or playing basketball with any type of ball.
The Doran Rice Family
Doran, Amber and family had a good and very busy week.
Morgan
Kayty
Happy Birthday to Kayty on Sunday. She wasn't feeling well, so we postponed the celebration till later in the week. She spent her week getting paperwork done for her permanent job at Chubb that begins next Monday. Saturday, she took her annual trip to Out of Africa Wild Park in Camp Verde.
We celebrated her birthday that night with cake.
The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan and Jessica taught their primary class on Sunday and really liked it! They had a busy and fun week too as Jessica's grandma was in town and they enjoyed dinners, shopping, and game nights with her family. Work is going well and they finally got signed onto insurance, so Jessica can see a doctor next week.
Dad's Garden
The cold weather this week wreaked havoc on Dad's garden. I knew the temps would be low, but there was no Freeze warnings issued. When I saw 28 degrees on the temperature on Wednesday morning, I said many prayers for Dad's tomato plants, but only four of the many survived. He will replant the smaller plants he had kept, but our yield for the year will be greatly reduced. It's a risk one takes, and this year, we had a cold Winter.
Other highlights
I cleaned out a few drawers, got boxes out of the attic and got a better schedule going.
Dad made it safely through blinding snow storms and the roughest weather he has ever been in. The snow in Utah ended up closing schools and being really bad. He did get some positive work done with suppliers though.
Nathan got a lot of clean up going in the side yard, and got that old sand blast booth torn down. All is out in our bulk trash pile now.
