Family

The Wilkins Family
What an exciting week for the Wilkins Family! Two graduations and school out for Summer! Papa drove up to attend Grace's High School Graduation (no tickets were available for Josh's middle school graduation so Dad returned home the next day).

Happy Anniversary, Mike and Allison on Saturday.

The Ethan Rice Family
Monday was the awards ceremony at Wade's class at school. He was awareded "King of Kindness", the PE award, and "Diligence Award". What a great first grade year Wade had!! Congratulations!!

Kaylee's days in elementary school wound down with a wonderful field trip to Chatanooga Tennessee to visit the Aquarium and the IMAX theater.

And then awards and promotion

Cameo shared:
Today, (5/24) was the last day of school for our kiddos. Wade finished up 1st grade, and Kaylee completed 5th grade. She is all done with elementary school. Kaylee had her 5th grade award ceremony today. She received a very special music award (only one boy and one girl in her class received). She also received the Merit Award, for all A’s and B’s for all 4 quarters. Kaylee also had the 5th grade walk, as well as a CFA breakfast from the PTA. We are so proud of our kiddos. Middle school, here we come with Miss Kay

The Doran Rice Family
Doran came and picked up their travel trailer early thursday morning for a fun weekend trip for Memorial Day.

Morgan
No news from Morgan and Cassie this week.

Kayty
Kayty got to work from home both Monday and Friday. She had a good week.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan, Jessica and family had a busy week. They are well.

Dad's Garden
Tomatoes are being picked every day. Smaller variety but still very tasty. One of our baby chicks suddenly died on Wednesday. So now we have two hens motherering one white chick we named Hedwig.

Other highlights
Dad purchased a used weight bench on Marketplace. Nathan was always concerned his old one was unsafe. We struggled to get it into my car and then noticed the wood on the seats was all rotted out. So Dad spent the rest of the week replacing wood.

Week of May 12 - May 18, 2024

Spiritual
Mothers Day Sunday. My kids had already made the day wonderful with texts, messages and calls. Church is always a question. Sacrament Meeting had great music. The primary sang. All the men and young men in the ward sang. The talks. Well, the youth were great kids but there were mostly talks that said how wonderful and perfect their own moms were. Nice for their moms. Left the rest of us feeling a bit less than good. (That has always been my problem with Mothers Day. For me, it was a day of feeling like I let everyone down. It had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with my kids. They all are and have always been the greatest gift to me and always will be. Always. No matter what). After Sacrament, the young men took over primary. The women and young women were invited to share a social in the cultural hall. I have tried that for three years. And anyone I did know is now moved to another ward. And the young women think old people are crypt keepers. So I went home. It was a lovely day and I enjoyed talking with and thinking of my kids and grandkids. And you know, no one even noticed I wasn't at the womens event.

We were able to attend the temple this week, performing sealing ordinances on Wednesday. Our sealer was so personal and you really felt he was sealing the actual individuals we were proxy for.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 26,400 records and reviewed 11,905 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
Twelve years of first days for Grace

The Ethan Rice Family
I had a wonderful text from Ethan and visited with them as I opened my gift on Sunday. Cameo had a wonderful Mothers Day.

They had a great day and they shared all the work they had done in the front yard at their house. The lawn is looking amazing!!

The Doran Rice Family
Busy work week for Doran and Amber. School is winding down. Doran and Kooper invited Dad to their Father Son Campout from Friday to Saturday.
Kooper ended up catching seven fish. They ate burgers and hot dogs, sausage and pancakes, fished and fished, and when I saw Kooper when Doran dropped Dad off, he was out cold! Sign of a great campout!

Morgan
No news from Morgan and Cassie this week.

Kayty
Kayty spoiled me rotten on Mothers Day as always. She knows just what I love. Good week at work too.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan called and we had a great visit on Mother's Day. He sent my favorite: Sees Nuts and Chews and they will be enjoyed for weeks!! The family had a great day celebrating Jessica and she sent me a sweet text earlier in the day.
Nathan traveled to Tucson on Monday and was in seminars all week. His flight home ended up being delayed a day so he missed being with Jessica on their 10th Wedding Anniversary. Happy Anniversary to both of you.

He got home on Saturday and was glad to be back.

Dad's Garden
Our two broody hens finally hatched one egg each and now we have two new chicks. So our total count is six elder hens, four smaller hens, and two tinies. I am picking smaller tomatoes and Dad is loving them.

Other highlights
Just a normal good week.

Week of May 5 - May 11, 2024

Spiritual
We enjoyed a good Fast and Testimony Meeting. I have to get up and go set up my classroom and our row in primary right after the ward before us is out, so I miss quite a bit of the talks/testimonies in Sacrament Meeting now. Primary was a bit crazy, and our sweet sister that helps with our special needs child was called to serve in the stake relief society presidency, so we will miss her and her great help so much! We had a quiet Sunday and enjoyed the cool breezes outdoors.

Dee was able to attend the temple this week on Wednesday evening.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 24,782 records and reviewed 11,601 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
Grace is enjoying her final high school days with lots of memories and plans for the future this week.
Sam participated in the million minute reading challenge at school and got a yummy lunchtime popsicle as a reward. Great job Sam!
And some pics of Grace and her friends...

The Ethan Rice Family
Wade's LaCrosse season ended and he was awarded a trophy for his great efforts. He had a great season!!
And on Friday, Cameo shared:
This little lady had a good time at the rising 6th grade celebration tonight. It was for the 4 elementary schools that feed into the middle school. Grizzlies unite. Only two more weeks of elementary school for her.

The Doran Rice Family
A great pic of Doran and Amber and their great ward.
They came by on Saturday for swimming and a small Mothers Day celebration. All are busy and well.

Morgan
Morgan and Cassie are now living in an RV park with free space, showers, etc. while she works there. Morgan is back working for the temporary service and loves it.

Kayty
Kayty had a good work week.

The Nathan Rice Family
This has been another great and busy week for this family. Annie had three softball tournament games on Friday night. They won the first two but were not victorious in the championship game. Annie still had a great season and made such great progress! She loves playing softball now.

Dad's Garden
We picked our first tomato this week! Dad also worked on some garden repairs and clean up. The chicks are getting bigger. The hens are still sitting on their nests. One more week. No babies and they are out!

Other highlights
I visited with Mom this week. She is happy and doing well.
