Week of May 30 - June 5, 2021

Highlights:

Spiritual
We had a wonderful Sunday. I was called to serve as a primary worker. Dad and I substituted for a primary class and Dad taught a wonderful lesson! Singing time was such a joy! Primary is my perfect place right now. I feel welcome. I feel at home. I'm so thankful for my new calling.

Temple remains open for limited us but we are not permitted to attend yet.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 7649 records and reviewed 58038 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
Happy Birthday to Mike on Monday!

The Wilkins family is doing pretty well. They have been reading the Harry Potter book series together. They just started the fourth book. Sam now wakes up every morning ready to send a death spell at Mom if she asks him to do chores, etc. Rough times. The Wilkins family is working on their summer calendar, trying to fit work with fun till school starts again on August 9th. Their week was crazy busy, but now that it's June and school is out, things should calm down. Since jobs in Arizona have not panned out, Allison is researching returning to school to get her Master's degree to become a licensed clinical social worker and work in the foster care system. That sounds absolutely wonderful! Happy Birthday, Mike, on Monday!!! Last week, Adam graduated high school, with a diploma in hand. On Senior check-out day, they practiced graduation, had a school-famous Oscar burger, and then went to Shake Shack with friends. Adam wanted wings for graduation and hot fries and ice cream sundaes. Adam was back to work on Friday, Saturday, and part of Sunday so he can attend church. He's scheduled for almost 40 hours the next week. Grace did well enough during the semester that she had no finals to take. She babysat during the week. She is going to take a free Summer School class so she signed up for Creative Writing and a theater class. She is looking forward to meeting some new people and getting out of the house.  She is also going to take up golfing and try to be on the team next school year. Josh and Sam had class parties to end their school year. Josh also got to attend a fun party at Lake Las Vegas. There were lots of inflatable activities on the lake and that was so much fun! He also got a new boomerang that he was going to try out at a park. Josh continues soccer practices and games. It's getting so hot for Saturday games, so it's good the season is winding down. Josh had an end-of-year Summer fun party on Saturday too. He got to eat a really good pizza and had a lot of fun! Sam had a great last day of school party. He got to eat pizza and treats and it was so much fun. This week he has a regular check-up and then oral surgery.

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan, Cameo and the kids had a great weekend camping and fishing.

Ethan traveled to Philadelphia on Tuesday and returned late Friday night. Kaylee and Wade went to the library during the week and started the summer reading program. Their garden looks wonderful and Kaylee showed me her fairy garden she created in a flower pot. They had some washing machine troubles, but Ethan kept their old front loader so he pulled it outside the basement walkout door and they have laundry!

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber had a very busy work week and the kids enjoyed their first week of Summer Break. Sadly, there was a little trouble with Doran's car but he was at least at home when it happened and it is off to the dealership.

Morgan
Morgan stopped by Monday evening while Cassie was at work. He shared a burger with Dad and brought some stew meat to grill. He also came by on Saturday for a visit.

Kayty
Kayty had a good work week. She got yet another fish to replace her failing one...Brantly is the name, I am pretty sure.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan and Jessica and the girls had a good week. They took Emma to a play place to celebrate her birthday. She is still a little young for big parties, so it was just them. Thursday was Meet The Principal at Legacy school for Annie. She went with Mom and Dad while Ellie and Emma came here to play. She is very excited about school. They headed to cooler weather Friday night and spent Saturday at Bear Lake fishing. We celebrated Emma's 2nd birthday with them on Saturday afternoon.

She is a great Peppa Pig fan so her gifts included lots of Peppa.

Dad's Garden
We are picking a lot of tomatoes but the quail and rabbits are picking more than we are. Its getting hot here so gardens are dying away, though we have lots of new citrus progressing well.

Family History
Still working out scanning issues.

Other highlights
Monday was pretty calm. Dad did yard work and I did housework.

I got the newest Grammy stocking all drawn and ready to begin embroidery.

I canned 14 quarts and 1 pint of tomatoes, plus 10 pints of applesauce this week. I am DONE canning tomatoes. When it gets to be 108 outside, its not fun anymore.
