Week of October 25 - 31, 2020

Highlights:

Spiritual
Another wonderful Sabbath as we attended Sacrament Meeting. Not as full this week but still wonderful. The new temple president is now a member of our ward, since they live in Prescott. They look like a lovely couple (what I could see of them anyway with the masks). Our missionaries spoke and both gave very uplifting talks.

Temples remain closed for the work for the dead.

I continue to listen to a General Conference Talk each day, read and study the Book of Mormon through Come Follow Me, and do my best to keep my goal of speaking kindness to all I can on social media.

I have indexed 16788 records and reviewed 105,436 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
Sam is excited to dress as a Leprechaun for Halloween next week. I got a sneak peek at his costume and it is adorable!! Josh is going to be a Panda and Grace is going to be a cat. They made caramel apples Sunday evening for a fun Fall treat. This year, they melted caramel candy and then rolled them in crushed Reese's, M & Ms and other yummy candies. A friend of Allison's gave them an extra television...and it is HUGE as the kids say (it does seem very large to me, which is awesome) They watched The Nightmare Before Christmas Sunday night on their new tv. Their Halloween Dinner this week was Dinner in a Pumpkin. They roasted the seeds too. They also made Tootsie Pop Ghosts. Here are pics of their special evening this week.

They will have next Friday off for Nevada Day. They want to hike Mt. Charleston, but that is really popular now and hard to get in.

Allison worked at the temple and did freelance writing this week. There was a pretty rugged day for her Wednesday. Things got started late...stuff going on like normal...Sam needed a mask and forgot his so she cleaned up one in the car. Something happened and he got physically ill in the car. They had to run to WalMart to get him a new mask and a clean pair of pants. He only got there about a half-hour late. Mike got an extra shift

Sam had a great week. He likes going to school but is not a fan of phonogram reviews, oral or written.

Joshua had two soccer practices last week. Mike and Allison both had to work Monday, so Adam kindly helped Josh and him get home from practice via bus. They had quite a fun bus adventure. They had bus money plus a couple of extra bucks to stop at Jack in the Box for Josh (and Papa's) beloved Jack Tacos. School is going well. He got all his work done and even attended a couple of Google Meets.

Grace had a good school week. This coming week she is trying to dress like a favorite book character, though she hadn't decided yet. They had a Young Women service project. They blew and raked leaves up in someone's yard. She also got to babysit this week.

Adam has a Young Men's Activity coming up next week. School is good and he is keeping up on the remote work. He went to the gym all week. On Saturday, he went to a friend's house, skateboarded, made cinnamon rolls. He has been trying to get more protein after workout and before bed, so he has been trying protein drinks.

Some Saturday night Halloween pics...

The Ethan Rice Family
After a great weekend away, work and school started up Monday. Kaylee celebrated red ribbon week at school by dressing up.

Spirit day on Friday...

Ethan traveled to Phoenix for work on Thursday and we got to have him to dinner on Thursday. He got off work Saturday and had a little dinner in a pumpkin without the pumpkin, and walked around with us Trick or Treating with Nathan and family. Morgan stopped by while he was here Saturday and we actually got a pic or two...

The Doran Rice Family
Another Trump Train for this family on Sunday. Todd is always the star!

They had a long week. Doran began with sinus troubles and ended it with pneumonia. Amber and the kids are doing well and keeping up with work and school. They were able to attend a fun party to celebrate Halloween on Saturday night.

Morgan
Morgan is doing well and enjoying the new dog he found. He has been busy working and came by Saturday night for a brief visit.

Kayty
Kayty used up two vacation days this week. She spent the time doing some shopping and getting her car ready for a Trump Train on Sunday she will participate in. She also stood on the hill this week waving her Trump flag. I have been so impressed with all she has tried to study and learn during this election cycle and how she has stood up for candidates.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan and Jessica had a very busy week. We saw the girls Monday and played out in the back yard while Mom and Dad enjoyed a date night. Tuesday was Anne's soccer practice. Wednesday, they attended a Trunk or Treat at Jessicas parents ward. Friday was their ward Trunk or Treat. Saturday morning was a soccer game

and Trick or Treat on Halloween.

Dad's Garden
Basil still is going crazy! He has many plants growing.

Other highlights
Cool-weather craziness this week. I went from jogging in capris and a light hoodie to two jackets and two layers of pants.
