Week of January 1-January 8, 2022

Highlights:

Spiritual
We had a wonderful spiritual Sunday with a great fast and testimony meeting. Dad helped me teach my new primary class, which is Valiant 8 which also included the Valiant 9 class. It was a great get to know you Sunday and was so nice to have all the kids volunteer to participate.

Temple remained closed for renovations this week.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 988 records and reviewed 1924 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins Family had a wonderful Christmas!! Grace enjoyed her gifts that included a Trivial Pursuit game, make-up, and tennis equipment. Josh got a wonderful engineering set and had already started creating things! Sam got puzzles, a magic 8 ball and an art set. Christmas was great but the week itself held many challenges. Grace and Allison were on their way to take a walk when they suddenly heard a noise and...flat tire! They had to wait a long time for roadside assist to come and then they drove on the small doughnut tire. They were grateful to get home safely. Mike was able to get the washing machine leak. Life sure brings challenges!! They were anxious to get back to school. Grace went to celebrate New Years with her friend, Katelyn and had a good time.

The Ethan Rice Family
This family had a great week. The kids remained on Christmas Break and Ethan and Cameo returned to work.

Happy Birthday Cameo on Friday!!

They enjoyed a fun lunch out on Saturday!

The Doran Rice Family
Doran, Amber, Kelsie and Kooper are doing well. Doran is enjoying working with his new plasma cutter. All are back at work and at school.

Morgan
Morgan is doing well and had a workweek and a yard sale for a friend.

Kayty
Kayty had a good work week, though short because she went to see her Chicago Blackhawks Hockey team play the Phoenix Coyotes.

The Nathan Rice Family
It was a good week for this family. Annie was so happy to return to school. Eve had two appointments and is doing well. The girls came to try out these bikes we found.

Dad's Garden
The garden continues to grow well. We ate chicken and snow peas and snap peas, and we might just like the snap peas better. More peppers and tomatoes were put in the ground and we seem to have made it through the cooler weather.

Other highlights
Dad made some homemade barbeque sauce this week, first by doctoring up catchup and then by cooking down tomatoes and making it all from that.

I spent the week deep cleaning and going through stuff: cupboards, drawers, scrubbing shower and tub, cleaning ceiling fans, etc. Next week, the village comes down.
