Diamondback Baseball Game

Our friends from church invited us to share in their Diamondback Baseball season tickets. We saw the world Champion San Francisco Giants play...and I can see why they won the World Series in 2012...they were awesome! It was fun...and the weather was great! The stadium is air conditioned, but on nice evenings, they open up the top...and that they did!
We had such awesome seats! The players actually looked like people...not ants!

Grammy had to share the fun with her grandbabies. Here she is trying to hear Adam on the phone. Baseball stadiums are noisy places!!!

This is some sort of race with retired Diamondback Players.

Uncle Morgan Meets Kaylee

Morgan was going to surprise me and come on Mother's Day, but a friend was in trouble, stuck in Colorado, so he and a friend went off to the rescue and then stopped by on the way back to Texas. Nicest Early Mother's Day present...ever!

Matching Mermaids

Kayty LOVES to shop. She was shopping, and saw a dress for Kaylee...so she bought it, dressed in the one she made for herself, and the two Disney Mermaids posed for a picture.

Bread Baking Efforts

I have had a goal to make awesome bread. I have a pretty good recipe for our regular whole wheat bread, and I make about 3 loaves every other week for our family eating. I constantly try others too. This one was a healthy bread with wheat, flax, sunflower seeds. I liked it, but it didn't like our weather, and just didn't rise right...so this is a one time loaf (I tried twice...second was no better than the first)

He Grew Artichokes

Dee grew artichokes...tons of them. However, they apparently like cook moist California breezes, and lots of water...two things we do not have, nor can afford...Phoenix Water Rates are horrible! So these are the early pickings...and the rest are for the chickens.

Monthly Yard Update for April

Each month, I take pics...I probably have explained this before...to send to Elder Rice via snail mail. He always laments that his truck doesn't move...nor show any progress in completion...hint hint...
Here's the pics for this month...
On the far left, the Palo Brea is blooming...lovely but messy! and the Argentinian Giant Cactus has blooms, but they only bloom at night, one day, and fade immediately.

Garden tomatoes and, on far right, cucumbers and Korean Melons

Grammy's Grape Gazebo

While the bulbs have finished, the alyssum and lobelia, plus gazania and dianthus look wonderful.

Dee has been in the pool. Too cold for me!

Happy Birthday, Dee!

I actually figured out a gift for hubby for his birthday. Happy Birthday Dee. Heck, I am married to a 56 year old...old guy! Who'd have thought. I also made him a pineapple pie to enjoy. That is his other birthday favorite. We had his favorite dinner: tacos and Spanish rice, too.
He has ALWAYS tried to guess what is in the package before he opens it. Drives. Me. Crazy.

A Ryobi Chain Saw on a Stick. We have tall Mesquite trees that he has to climb a precarious ladder to trim.

Saturday Pizza Night

Kayty and some friends wanted to have pizza and watch a movie, so we heated up the oven and had another great pizza night. Elder Moala (a missionary from Tonga that is serving his full time mission in Phoenix) loves it when we have pizza night, for Dee always drives one over to their apartment.
Dee teaches the group the 'fine art' of pizza making

Kayty and her friends had a buffalo chicken pizza during their Salt Lake City trip, so she made one herself. I can't eat much pizza...but THIS one I did try...and it was awesome!

The girls created a dessert pizza. Instead of flour, they used powdered sugar. They cooked it  on a pizza pan. And they added plenty of chocolate chips. All said it was awesome.

Elder Rice Update for April

Here are a few pics from Elder Rice

Elder Rice was washing dishes after a ward event and heard a commotion in the other room. Apparently, Koreans use bee sting therapy to heal themselves.

I had to be re-assured by Jessica this was NOT my son's hand!
