Sunday went well and my class went better than the last time. I learn what to ask and what not to ask. The primary kids sang for Father's Day in church. Dad ended up with a bag of Skittles and some Dad's Cream Soda.

Temple remains open for limited use but we are not permitted to attend until late June and July. I was able to schedule appointments for the next few weeks.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day. I completed the Book of Mormon and started reading it again.

I have indexed 8610 records and reviewed 64911 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
Las Vegas had a hot week too! 117 degrees on a couple of days. Temple opened for regular patrons and work for the dead. Attendance is scheduled for three months ahead. Mike had scheduled but then he had a job interview so he had to cancel. Sadly they had some car trouble on the freeway. Adam ended up pushing it off the freeway and 1/2 mile up the road to a gas station. They ended up calling a tow truck and the driver was red/yellow color blind! Crazy!!! Young Men and Young Women prepared freezer meals to end up giving out to ward members. They have been asked to sing in next week's Sacrament meeting. Adam worked four days during the week. As an adult, he has learned it is no longer just breaking rules; it's breaking laws. He was referring to his buddies. He spent his paychecks on a phone, some apps, some earbuds, and a new game controller. He has a work party coming up next Tuesday. Grace had a good week. She is so excited about camp in three weeks!! She spent the last week baking and cooking. She made Mike some cinnamon rolls for Father's Day breakfast. Grace has been asked to lead a devotional before breakfast.Josh had a good week. He was so excited that instead of soccer practice, he was getting to practice in his coaches' pool. Sam had a good week and is enjoying Harry Potter so much! He used some of his money to buy a huge soft piggy bank!

The Ethan Rice Family
Kaylee sure enjoyed volleyball camp last week!
Ethan had to remain in Pennsylvania and couldn't take his flight home. So, on the spur of the moment, He and Cameo decided to meet halfway and Ethan drove 11 hours from Pa and Cameo and the kids drove 5 hours from Ga and met in North Carolina for a fun few days celebrating Father's Day.
The kids were so surprised to wake up Saturday morning and have Daddy there with them!!

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber had a good week, but busy as usual. Doran still is trying to get that root canal finished. I took Kelsie to the orthodontist on Thursday to replace a broken bracket. Kooper is loving Karate and won a medal.

They enjoyed quite a few trips to Hurricane Harbor water park

Morgan
Morgan is doing well.

Kayty
Had a good week and is preparing for returning to work part time...two days a week. She had to purchase her own keyboard and mouse to keep at home. She is doing well.

The Nathan Rice Family

Adam got so many gift cards for Raising Kane's and now he doesn't just like it; he loves it!
They had a busy week with Allison returning to work at the temple due to the temple opening to work for the dead. They are still enjoying some time without school.

The Ethan Rice Family
Some pictures from their Sunday Bible School program.

Ethan traveled to Pennsylvania again this week.

Cameo was kept busy with her work, Kaylee attending a volleyball camp with her friend, Madeline, and keeping a busy little Wade occupied.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber had a busy week with work. Doran is still struggling with his infected tooth. They thought the infection had been taken care of, but when the dentist started to work on it, the infection was still present so more antibiotics. Kelsie enjoyed some time with her friend. Kooper is enjoying summer school. They went to Wet n Wild on Saturday and then came by for a visit.

Morgan
Morgan is doing well.

Kayty
Kayty had a good week at work and at home. She is preparing to return to the work site in a couple of weeks. She got a new dress via Amazon this week.

The Nathan Rice Family
It was a challenging week for Nathan and Jessica. On Monday, a quick trip to the grocery store ended up sending Jessica to the hospital via ambulance and totaling Nathan's car. Jessica and the baby were checked and checked, and she ended up with a chiropractor visit on Saturday to help. All seems well and Nathan hauled the car to the junkyard to get rid of it. Otherwise, they are well. Emma is doing well potty training and they had a couple good trips to Wet n Wild, including one with Doran and Amber on Saturday.

Dad's Garden
Done. It was 117 here this week. Done.

It was an indoors kind of week with all the heat. Our grapes successfully became raisins and we got a few more bunches to try some more this week.

I went to Hobby Lobby and got to see the beginnings of Fall and Christmas start to go up!

I cleaned up the washing machine soap drawer and scrubbed the bedroom doors this week.

Week of June 6 - 12, 2021

Highlights:

Spiritual
We had a wonderful Sunday. Fast and Testimony Meeting was full of testimonies from the men and young men in the ward; stories of missionary service and of gratitude for missionaries sharing the gospel with them. It fell perfectly in line for my first primary lesson. It went ok but I will do better as I figure out this new way of teaching. We enjoyed a nice quiet Sunday and got a lot of studying done.

Temple remains open for limited us but we are not permitted to attend yet.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day. I completed my third time through the General Conference talks and started my fourth time through. I will finish the Book of Mormon on Sunday.

I have indexed 7969 records and reviewed 60511 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
Wilkins family is doing well. Busy busy week. Their temple and opened to phase 3 so work for the dead can be done by appointment. Allison starts full-time work starting next week. This week, they tried to start a new Summer routine. They tried to get the a/c fixed in the car but that didn't work out. Poor Mike had to walk home seven miles due to the bus not letting him on without a mask. Happy 18th Birthday to Adam on Wednesday! He took the day off of work and played video games with his friends. He is within a half-hour of getting four free tickets to Cowabunga Bay. The family cannot wait. Adam got some new shoes for work, some gaming headphones, a book, and Andy Capp's Hot Fries, some candy, and a game. He was treated to Raising Kane's for lunch and Stroganoff for dinner with Ice Cream Sundaes for his birthday treat. In celebration of Adam's graduation at the Youth Activity, he got a gift basket full of treats, Raising Kane's gift card, and nice stuff. They had grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and Mike made his dutch oven cobbler. Grace jammed her finger playing basketball and was pretty miserable. They got her a splint. Plus she had a bad day and decided to stop Summer School and not attend the Youth End of Year Activity. Josh and his team made the quarterfinals of soccer. The game remained tied through one overtime but they lost in the penalty kick round. Sam had some oral surgery this week. He has such a sensitive gag reflex so it was better to get everything done while sedated. He had to take it easy so Allison took the day off work.

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan spent his week in Pennsylvania again. Cameo took the kids to Vacation Bible School and they had a wonderful week.

Wade struggled off and on all week with a stomach bug. All though are hanging in there.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran has been plagued with an infected tooth that needs another root canal as soon as the infection is gone. Still, he worked all week and so did Amber. The kids are well.

Morgan
Morgan is well and working when there is work available. He and Cassie took Dad camping and fishing on Thursday night and he had a great time in the cool weather.

Kayty
Kayty had a good week. Lots of work. Lots of overtime. No time for much else.

The Nathan Rice Family
Happy Second Birthday to Emma on Sunday! They celebrated by decorating cookies, her favorite. They had a good week, attending the Water Park a few times and having a lot of fun. However, Emma was not happy with Nathan when she had to share Nathan's drink with Anna...

They are doing well. Dad and Nathan got away for a brief fishing trip at Bartlett lake on Saturday evening.

Dad's Garden
We are getting the last few tomatoes. The weather is molten now. So the outside refrigerator is closed up and shut off till November.

Family History
Still waiting for Scanning assist.

Other highlights
Happy 84th birthday to Grandman on Tuesday! Dad took her out to lunch on Wednesday and they had a nice time.

Dad had a few days off work, so he mowed the lawn, volunteered to work at a food rescue for a few hours, installed with Morgan a room a/c for the music room, repaired the ceiling drywall in the garage, improved the garage evap cooler, and visited with a few friends.

Nano is in great health, though her disease makes her very confused and sometimes difficult for Elizabeth her caregiver.

Temple remains open for limited us but we are not permitted to attend yet.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

Family

The Wilkins Family
Happy Birthday to Mike on Monday!

The Wilkins family is doing pretty well. They have been reading the Harry Potter book series together. They just started the fourth book. Sam now wakes up every morning ready to send a death spell at Mom if she asks him to do chores, etc. Rough times. The Wilkins family is working on their summer calendar, trying to fit work with fun till school starts again on August 9th. Their week was crazy busy, but now that it's June and school is out, things should calm down. Since jobs in Arizona have not panned out, Allison is researching returning to school to get her Master's degree to become a licensed clinical social worker and work in the foster care system. That sounds absolutely wonderful! Happy Birthday, Mike, on Monday!!! Last week, Adam graduated high school, with a diploma in hand. On Senior check-out day, they practiced graduation, had a school-famous Oscar burger, and then went to Shake Shack with friends. Adam wanted wings for graduation and hot fries and ice cream sundaes. Adam was back to work on Friday, Saturday, and part of Sunday so he can attend church. He's scheduled for almost 40 hours the next week. Grace did well enough during the semester that she had no finals to take. She babysat during the week. She is going to take a free Summer School class so she signed up for Creative Writing and a theater class. She is looking forward to meeting some new people and getting out of the house.  She is also going to take up golfing and try to be on the team next school year. Josh and Sam had class parties to end their school year. Josh also got to attend a fun party at Lake Las Vegas. There were lots of inflatable activities on the lake and that was so much fun! He also got a new boomerang that he was going to try out at a park. Josh continues soccer practices and games. It's getting so hot for Saturday games, so it's good the season is winding down. Josh had an end-of-year Summer fun party on Saturday too. He got to eat a really good pizza and had a lot of fun! Sam had a great last day of school party. He got to eat pizza and treats and it was so much fun. This week he has a regular check-up and then oral surgery.

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan, Cameo and the kids had a great weekend camping and fishing.

Ethan traveled to Philadelphia on Tuesday and returned late Friday night. Kaylee and Wade went to the library during the week and started the summer reading program. Their garden looks wonderful and Kaylee showed me her fairy garden she created in a flower pot. They had some washing machine troubles, but Ethan kept their old front loader so he pulled it outside the basement walkout door and they have laundry!

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber had a very busy work week and the kids enjoyed their first week of Summer Break. Sadly, there was a little trouble with Doran's car but he was at least at home when it happened and it is off to the dealership.

Morgan
Morgan stopped by Monday evening while Cassie was at work. He shared a burger with Dad and brought some stew meat to grill. He also came by on Saturday for a visit.

Kayty
Kayty had a good work week. She got yet another fish to replace her failing one...Brantly is the name, I am pretty sure.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan and Jessica and the girls had a good week. They took Emma to a play place to celebrate her birthday. She is still a little young for big parties, so it was just them. Thursday was Meet The Principal at Legacy school for Annie. She went with Mom and Dad while Ellie and Emma came here to play. She is very excited about school. They headed to cooler weather Friday night and spent Saturday at Bear Lake fishing. We celebrated Emma's 2nd birthday with them on Saturday afternoon.

She is a great Peppa Pig fan so her gifts included lots of Peppa.

Dad's Garden
We are picking a lot of tomatoes but the quail and rabbits are picking more than we are. Its getting hot here so gardens are dying away, though we have lots of new citrus progressing well.

Family History
Still working out scanning issues.

Other highlights
Monday was pretty calm. Dad did yard work and I did housework.

I got the newest Grammy stocking all drawn and ready to begin embroidery.

I canned 14 quarts and 1 pint of tomatoes, plus 10 pints of applesauce this week. I am DONE canning tomatoes. When it gets to be 108 outside, its not fun anymore.
