Week of March 13 - 19, 2022

Spiritual
Sunday was good. Sacrament Meeting included a departing missionary and his father, and primary was crazy as usual.

Temple attendance opened up this week, and while it was too late for me this week, I got appointments for the next two Tuesday mornings, so after two years, temple tuesday returns. Dad attended a session on Thursday evening.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s) - I completed my seventh time through and began my eighth, prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 9880 records and reviewed 21093 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
Family Photos started the week on Saturday. They enjoyed time together and the pictures seemed to come out nice.

Mike is still working Amazon and searching for more permanent work. Allison is working very hard at her job at school and is learning a lot about the poor quality of school lunch food as required by the federal government. Adam came home from a swap meet with two new family members: birds. Josh is a great help and takes good care of them since Adam is gone a lot. Elle (the cat) spends a lot of time watching...and perhaps even dreams of a future meal. Adam is doing well, working and dealing with car ownership. Grace is out of school on Monday. She is so excited to be a YCL at Girls Camp this year, so she will spend Monday on a special high adventure hike with the other girls. She is doing well as she practices driving. Josh and Sam were out of school on Friday for Parent-Teacher conferences. Josh is now the Deacon's Quorum President and is on the middle school varsity soccer team! Sam has a second-grade music concert coming next week. On Saturday Sam took a beginning skateboarding class and he really had a good time. he showed me a really cool trick he learned too.

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan traveled to Indiana for work on Tuesday. Cameo is still feeling poorly but was able to both work and get the kids where they needed to be.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran, Amber, and family went to the Out of Africa Wild Park Zoo and then visited Jerome.

Amber took the week off for the kids Spring Break and it was filled with doctor and dentist appointments.

Amber and the kids came by on Friday to make Doran's birthday cake frosting. (Nathan kindly made the cake and it was much better than my box variety I am certain!)
Saturday was a family target shooting day.

Morgan
Morgan had a busy work week and weekend.

Kayty
Kayty did well during the week at work and attended a Colorado Rockies Spring Training baseball game and Kelsie tagged along with her.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan prepared for Pi day on Sunday and brought us over a yummy homemade lemon meringue pie.

This family had a busy week with Pi Day treats, back to school, extra projects for Nathan at work plus lots of yard work.

Dad's Garden
Dad continues to enjoy and share citrus and we are still picking smaller roma tomatoes. Oregano is crazy growing. His raised bed garden block work is completed.

Family History
Nano slide share continues

I was told by Nano that on one occasion,I was riding this horse and fell off, leading to a cut that required stitches.

Other highlights
We continued working on the raised bed planter.

Not sure why, but there was a pretty nice fireworks show on Friday morning as I was jogging....at 2 am. Not sure how the neighbors felt but I thought it looked nice.

Week of March 6 - 12, 2022

Spiritual
We had a very nice Fast and Testimony meeting and primary went as it usually does: unpredictable. Many will be out of town next week, as will the sister I am working with, so I hope its just quiet.

Dee was able to get an appointment to attend the temple this week.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 9017 records and reviewed 19355 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins are doing well and enjoying the business of life. Grace had a choir concert on Thursday night and we so enjoyed their efforts on Marco Polo so we could listen and watch. The Wilkins also finally got most of their Christmas Stockings via mail and opened them Friday night for a Christmas in March celebration.

The Ethan Rice Family
The week began on a rough note. Ethan traveled for the day to Smyrna Georgia on business and while he was away, a sick Cameo had to take two sick kids to the doctor. Kaylee had confirmed strep throat.
She texted us a bit while she rested. Here is a pic of their new little hamster.

Dad talked with Ethan and Wade via Facetime later that day. Both Cameo and Kaylee were sleeping trying to feel better.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber had another tough week. I spent some time there with Kooper on Tuesday afternoon and evening while they worked out some troubles. Kelsie continues to struggle and spent some time in the hospital. Kooper is a happy kid who loves riding his bike, playing Nintendo with a friend, playing with his cars outside and eating chicken nuggies. Ah, the simple things of life.

Morgan
No news from Morgan this week.

Kayty
Kayty had a good work week with a little overtime. She is doing well.
One minor save.

The Nathan Rice Family
Spring Break week started with new lemon pajamas for everyone.

They had such a fun week with surprise daily activities including a girls night sleep over at Grammy Lorrie's and a slip and slide. It was a great Spring Break without having to spend a ton of gas money.

Dad's Garden
I am picking quite a few small roma tomatoes. It seems without the chicken manure, the other tomato garden is starting to fade already so we won't get very many tomatoes there. Oregano is plentiful and lots of orange juice is still being squeezed.

Other highlights
Dad got some block laying done on his raised bed garden and it looks good.

We started the sanding and sealing of the kitchen table. The old varnish had been chipped and wearing off. It of course is more work than I had originally planned.

Week of February 27 - March 5, 2022

Spiritual
We had a wonderful Sacrament Meeting as we heard a dear young woman in our ward who was kind enough to take many of our baptismal ordinances to the temple for us, speak as she prepares to serve a mission. Sydney hears using cochlear implants and thought she would be called to an ASL mission, but she will serve an English-speaking mission in Washington. A new primary presidency was called after the last one served for years, and class went well.

Dad was able to get an appointment to attend the temple this week on Thursday evening.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 7977 records and reviewed 17,456 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins Family continues to be very busy and are doing well. Grace passed her test and has her driving learners permit and is the only soul I have even known that was truly honest in those height/weight questions. Such a good young woman! All are enjoying work and school.

The Ethan Rice Family
Lots of fun dress ups at school this week as Dr. Suess was celebrated. Wade and his friend joined in the fun at preschool.

Ethan and Cameo attended a party to celebrate some friends' birthdays on Friday evening and took lovely cupcakes.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran and Amber and family are adjusting to new work schedules and are doing good. Backaches seem to have subsided a bit. Doran, Kooper and Dad did a little target shooting on Saturday while Amber rested and Kelsie baked cupcakes here.

Morgan
Morgan is doing well and is busy working.

Kayty
Kayty had a very good week at work that included 8 hours of overtime. She took a trip Saturday to Mesa to pick up an item she purchased.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan, Jessica, and the girls had a busy week that included dental appointments, return to on-site work, extra projects, parent-teacher conferences, a Dr. Suess parade, and field day.

Dad's Garden
Dad worked through the week adding a footing for a block raised bed garden. We ate sugar snap peas, lettuce, tomatoes and picked and juiced lots of citrus.

This is at Encanto Park Kiddie Land

My dad loved badminton and liked to put up the net in the yard. I never could figure it out.

Other highlights
Dad had taken the week off to get things done while it was still cool outside. He signed up and then un-signed up for social security and medicare. That took forever! He got his new driver's license, got teaching paperwork caught up, and worked in the yard and garden. His first weekly covid test came back negative and was submitted on time so he doesn't get fired. He was called by another company to work, but since they are a subcontract company of Honeywell, everyone must be vaccinated without exception so he had to decline.

I got to take a quick Target run while Dad was at the temple but the dollar spot was nearly empty.
