Week of August 5 - 11, 2018

Highlights:

Spiritual
Sunday was another spiritual uplift. The two youth baptized on Saturday last week were confirmed on Sunday, and there were many testimonies shared about missionary work and baptismal covenants. Our monthly Relief Society Counsel meeting actually was great this month. Sister Black had everyone write on an index card their biggest concern...nothing personal so we would know who it was. It was amazing how many sisters could offer suggestions and solutions to the few items shared by the leader. Truly a time to discover and find help. We had choir practice on Sunday and it was good.

I attended a session at the temple on Tuesday morning. Dad attended a session on Thursday night.

I had no cub scouts this week. Dad's scouts were scheduled to have a fun night at a park, but no one ended up coming. Saturday, he spent the day at Lake Pleasant for a Young Men/Young Women activity.

I am in Mosiah 16 in the Book of Mormon. I completed reading the August Ensign Magazine on Sunday, and I continue to listen to a General Conference talk mornings as I exercise. I will begin Priesthood session for the 4th time on Monday.

I have indexed 13070 names and reviewed 26023 names so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
This was back to school week for some of this family. On Wednesday, the traditional Kissing Hand Cookies were baked, their traditional book read that night,

and the first day of school for Grace and Josh was Thursday.

Friday, they enjoyed another Minor League Baseball game, watching the Las Vegas 51s that included a pretty awesome fireworks show.

The Ethan Rice Family
Kaylee enjoyed school on Monday. Dad called and chatted with Ethan and Morgan for awhile on Monday night. All is going well. Wade started preschool on Tuesday

From the looks of the last picture, he had a great day! When Cameo arrived on Thursday, he started shaking his head no. He loves his friends!

The Doran Rice Family
Doran has lost 40 pounds...having some stomach troubles so doctor is being consulted. On Tuesday night, Kooper took a little spill and ended up at Urgent Care with family for a fix.

Amber and Kelsie are looking great too with loosing weight. Hooray for you all!!

Morgan
Happy Birthday, Morgan on Wednesday!!! Ethan, Cameo and Kaylee went all out for his day! Went out to Thai food for dinner, made him a great carrot cake (everyone pitched in to help with this cake too!)

Work is going very well and he really likes his job!

Kayty
Kayty had a good work week. She is becoming more adept at doing insurance renewals. Nothing extra going on for her this week.

Total saves:

The Nathan Rice Family
We talked via FaceTime on Sunday...all are doing well. Monday, they took a little hike which Ellie loved, but Anna still wasn't sure if it was great or not. Miss Ellie took her first steps officially on Wednesday...choosing to walk to big sister rather than to get the cookie from Nathan. Then, she became a crazy climber...climbing on anything and showing great pride in the heights she is reaching. Jessica says that she now has 12 more grey hairs from this little adventurer alone! Nathan and his friend, Charles, went fishing on Friday in the Snake River...and brought home this...

Nathan and Jessica began a new eating plan called "Eat to Live". Nathan lost 9 pounds and Jessica lost 5. Way to go!!

Dad's Garden
Garden is over for this year. Key limes are nearly done.

Other highlights
I went outside to jog, I looked up in the Eastern night sky...and saw Orion! My favorite constellation, signaling that Fall is coming!

We had such wonderful rain this week! So very thankful!!! Also, that rain led to wonderful morning jogs. I actually jogged in the upper 70s and low 80s!!! I can't even remember when it was that cool outside in months! Dad even went on a few hikes this week in the early morning too.
