Week of September 1 - 7, 2019

Highlights:

Spiritual
Sunday church was very good and we had uplifting testimonies in Sacrament Meeting and learned much in Sunday school. Dad went to visit a ministering family in the afternoon. He had prepared for hours ended up sharing with the family a fun message and challenge.

Dad attended temple sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday morning and took Kelsie to perform baptismal ordinances on Saturday afternoon. I performed initiatory ordinances on Wednesday morning.

I continue to read the Ensign magazine and completed my fifth time through listening to General Conference talks and started my sixth time. This was just a rougher week than the typical rough weeks, and I cannot tell you how much comfort I received from the words of our Apostles and Prophet. It was truly as though they knew what was happening in life and how to personally give me encouragement.

Dad helped me with cub scouts. We completed Spirit of the Water adventure and ended up completing Adventures in Coins. One of my cubs has Down's Syndrome and has become extremely difficult to work with him. He tried to take Dad's coins and gram scale and would not give them back. And then, he just gets up and leaves and it is impossible to get him back to the group. It ended up Porter took so much time that I just signed off the adventure for the other boys. We will need to work on something else next time...two weeks from now.

I have indexed 16770 records and reviewed 40392 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins Family was able to attend the Wilkins Family Reunion on Labor Day Weekend in Pinedale with many of their cousins, aunts and uncles. They had a wonderful time!!

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan, Cameo and family had a good week. Hurricane Dorian didn't even seem to bother them and school and work went well. Saturday they harvested basil from a plant nearly taller than Cameo and then made a bunch of pesto.

The Doran Rice Family
Kooper experienced his first time on the Annual Dove Hunt this year. He liked the few doves, shot his shotgun at a target, but didn't want to shoot doves. There weren't very many anyway.

Happy Birthday, Kelsie on Monday. They spent their morning doing laundry at our house so it wasn't that fun. They spent Friday again doing laundry while we watched the celebration of President Russell M. Nelson's 85th birthday. They finished a couple more loads of laundry on Saturday.

Morgan
Morgan is doing well. Emileigh was safe from any hurricane effects.

Kayty
Kayty had a rough Sunday night, so I was up a lot checking on her. She took an extra day of vacation on Tuesday and had a pretty good week.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan, Jessica, and family are doing well and busy working and surviving the heat.

Other highlights
I spent quite a bit of time working out troubles with Nano's homeowner's insurance, her cardiologist leaving her insurance coverage, prescription troubles, and just memory problems. Not easy and still not solved.

Grandma and I took our annual trip to Ahwatukee to the Millie's Hallmark sale. We got a good place in line to get in the store. She found a few things. I didn't find anything I wanted or needed but it was nice to look around.
