Week of October 13 - 19, 2019

Highlights:

Spiritual
It was nice to be back meeting as a ward on Sunday. We were introduced to the new program for youth and children and the talks in Sacrament Meeting led into the second meeting. I attended choir practice on Sunday and enjoyed that.

Dad attended sessions at the temple on Wednesday and Thursday nights. I attended Pack Meeting on Thursday night where all our cubs received their Wolf Badge. Mission Accomplished! I went out with my new ministering companion on Friday and we had a great, but long, two hour visit with dear sweet Jody.

I continue to listen to a General Conference Talk every morning, read the General Conference talks, and read my Book of Mormon daily.

I have indexed 18790 records and reviewed 50577 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
It was a challenging week for the Wilkins Family. Grace got braces on her teeth. Mike will now have to see other employment. Everyone seems healthy now. Dad attended an extra temple session on Thursday to add their names to the temple prayer roll. We are fervently praying that they will be guided to where and what they need to do.

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan's family attended another Home Depot Kids Create day and they later attended the Perry Fair. They had such a good time!!
Cameo shared...
"Last Saturday (October 5th), we went to the Home Depot Kids Workshop and the Georgia National Fair in Perry, GA. This fair was wonderful!! We all had a great time. It was the best fair we have ever gone to. They had a baby chick hatchery where you could view the chicks pecking their way 🐣 out of their shells, there were kids showing their goats 🐐 and sheep 🐑 (in a show), Ethan spun wool, there was a momma cow giving birth (you could watch if you wanted), momma pigs 🐖 nursing their piglets, there was a lake right in the middle of this fair (they had free shows with people doing tricks on skis and such), tons of rides, lots of food vendors, lots to see and do."

Kaylee dressed up to celebrate the 50th day of school in 50's attire. She also brought the pumpkin she planned, created and painted to school.

They remembered Breast Cancer Sufferers/Survivors on Friday by dressing PINK!
A stomach bug has hit this family all week, but even on Saturday, the kids sat on their front porch bundled up in coats to watch the rain fall in 50 degree weather.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran, Amber, Kelsie, and Kooper had a good week. It was back to school for the kids and Kooper liked returning to his teacher. Their house progresses and mistakes are being corrected. Saturday, Doran and Kooper helped Dad with the final berm pour. Kooper helped move wheelbarrows, bang the sides of the forms to remove air pockets, and even helped dump the mixer. On Saturday night, Doran took Kelsie to 13th Floor Haunted House and Amber and Kooper spent the evening here.

Morgan
Morgan is busy working and doing well.

Kayty
Kayty had a good week at work that included early and late overtime. She also worked on her Tangled Halloween costume to wear to work.

The Nathan Rice Family
This family had a good week. He came by one evening and helped with the second portion of the cement berm pour. I got to play with the girls inside the house and we had fun (until Emma got a little hungry and I made a bottle. She does not like me giving her one of those!) The girls came by to play for a bit on Thursday morning while Jessica went to an appointment. We played outdoors, built with Legos, and enjoyed some yogurt and other fun snacks.

Dad's Garden
Other than theivery that continues to plague his seedlings, snow peas and others are doing well. His date palms we worked to remove from the tree are looking much better after our hot dry summer.

Other highlights
We saw this on FaceBook on Monday from Aunt Kay Judson and Uncle Tamas Judson:

Mission accomplished. We delivered great grandmother Nancy Hammond Marshall’s grave marker to Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas, WY. Tamas L Judson made the concrete base and embedded a crystal from her ranch and other mementos from the Marshall home-place in the concrete and left a place for flowers. The brass memorial plate has her name, dates, and pioneer designation. It has been a very rewarding experience to commemorate her legacy.

Grandma Dorrie contributed to create the lovely nameplate. (This is Grandma Dorrie's mom's mom's mom.)

New carpet in the playroom on Monday.

Pics from Saturdays pour

After they were finished, Doran had located a refrigerator at a yard sale so they headed out with the trailer to pick it up. A tire came off the trailer, bounced ahead of them, across the street, and then into a palm tree. We figure that Dad just didn't check the lug nuts after the trailer was reassembled after repair. Anyway, there were so many blessings involved: the tire didn't come off while any moving of furniture was going on in the past months, or even while it was filled with citrus wood, no other person or vehicle was hurt, and other than having to pay for a new rim and tire installation, all is well.

My village took all week, every single day, to get put up. It got to the point on Saturday that I was just sick of the mess! My living room was a shambles, and working in there for many hours each day neglected the rest of the house. I finished what I could do late and the rest away. In that process, I located two buildings I neglected to put up. It would have been so difficult to adjust the building lighting to add them, so I just put them away with the rest of the empty boxes. Village is not perfect but it is done.
