Week of November 12 - 18, 2017

Highlights:

Spiritual
Sunday started with meetings for me: cub scout committee and then choir practice. Dad spent the morning preparing for his lesson next Sunday. We had great Sacrament, Sunday School and Priesthood/Relief Society meetings too.

Dad spent his Sunday evening home teaching. He visited two families.

I prepared the scout calendar on Sunday for our next couple of months. Cub Scouts was...busy...on Wednesday night. We now have 8...yes 8 very active, friendly, talkative boys who all attend the same school and all are friends. Sister Day and I go home with no voice and no energy. Dad volunteered last night to attend meetings for awhile, just as crowd control.

Dad attended a session at the temple on Wednesday night.

I tried to Visit Teach this week. The sister was going to call me as soon as she got home from Visiting Teaching. I sat all ready all day...and she must have forgotten or got busy. My visiting teachers came on Thursday.

I have indexed 33434 records so far this year.

I am in Enos  in the Book of Mormon.

Family

The Wilkins Family
Happy Birthday, Allison on Sunday!

Adam brought home a school project of sorts...Kim (short for Kim Jong Un Wilkins)
Quite an adventure!

The Ethan Rice Family
Ethan and Cameo picked up a new ping pong table over the weekend. A great addition to the basement.
We received these Fall Pics from Cameo

Kaylee took part in an adorable Thanksgiving program at her school on Friday. We loved the video Cameo shared as the cutest pilgrim girl in the bunch (there were also turkeys and Indians) sang some cute songs.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran, Amber, Kelsie and Kooper continued their normal busy week.

Morgan
Morgan started a new job on Monday working for a wholesale landscape company. He also helped Dad haul a lot of stuff to the bulk trash pile.

Kayty
Kayty got her oil changed and her car cleaned out and vacuumed at the dealership. She DOES have a floor in that car! Work went well, though she had to go in early a few days due to computer system updates. After work Saturday, she went to some friends house to watch Lord of the Rings.

The Nathan Rice Family
I spoke with Anna and Nathan on Sunday and Monday nights. Potty training is going well and she is a real superstar! We also spoke on Saturday afternoon. He took a brief break from tons of homework to chat with Dad.

Dad's Garden
Dad planted tomatoes on Monday after work.

Tuesday morning, he found the plants all eaten. We have some sort of rodents out there that dig holes and eat young plants, and chicken wire can't keep them out. All his carrot seedlings are scarfed up by quail. No carrots in the Spring here. He is looking forward to planting seeds in December.

Year of the House Part 2
No work this week or next.

Other highlights
First Christmas lights on Monday during my walk (toe is still not cooperating) and then the radio Christmas music started on Tuesday morning.

First round of Christmas decorations completed. Just did some of the living room and will do the rest after all return home the first weekend in December.

Dad got his car all cleaned out, vacuumed and washed. (We had a sprinkle of rain and it made his car look atrocious!)
He and Morgan got the porch all cleaned up. I hope to eat Thanksgiving Dinner here.

Dad got called to a new calling on Thursday night. I will let you know after he is sustained.

Dad subbed at grade school Friday. One of the kids threatened to hit another teacher in the head with a rock. Isn't school fun now days!

Not so highlights
Not so good news on Tuesday. Honeywell is getting rid of more people on December 22nd. (Merry Christmas, right?) Everyone is already worked to death, long days, nights, and doing the work of many people already fired. The mood from all was pretty subdued the rest of the work week. Dad did apply for four other jobs, and he is in the "keep" pile at the Arizona Department of Revenue.
