Week of November 19 - 25. 2017

Highlights:

Spiritual
Sacrament Meeting was great, with good talks and the choir sang a Thanksgiving song. Dad was called to be the Deacon's Quorum Advisor. I sat down in Sunday School, when the Primary Secretary came in asking if I could help with a primary class, so I sat and wrestled 6 year olds (well, wrestled one...the others were pretty good) while my friend, Jody, taught the class. I have sat with this class before...they are even more lively than the class with my cub scouts.

Dad completed his home teaching after church. We also visited with the bishop at tithing settlement. I completed my visiting teaching as well.

I am in Mosiah 11 in the Book of Mormon. I continue to learn and enjoy listening to at least one General Conference talk every morning as I exercise.

I have indexed 34190 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins family had a good week, though sickness ran through the ranks. Grace ran a high fever and barely could even raise her head to drink Gatorade. Josh and Sam were the next victims. Allison and Grace's Black Friday adventure was to get meds.

The Ethan Rice Family
Cameo shared pics of Kaylee's program at school. She is such a cute pilgrim!

They arrived in Phoenix on Wednesday and stayed a few nights with us...

The Doran Rice Family
Doran, Amber and family had a good week. We enjoyed sharing Thanksgiving with them. Doran and Kooper stopped by on Friday and Kooper played with Kaylee and helped with the chickens. They had a fun Thanksgiving feast with their neighbors on Saturday night, with Doran deep frying a turkey for the event.

Morgan
Morgan helped his friend Kyle work on his truck and spent his week at his job. He stayed with Doran on Thursday and Friday nights.

Kayty
Kayty attended the Niall Horan Concert on Monday night.

She worked all week including Thanksgiving day, and got home in time to grab some food and head out to WalMart and load up with DVDs.

The Nathan Rice Family
Dad talked to Nathan on Sunday night. Nate FaceTimed on Monday night and I spoke with Annalee and Elisabeth! Anna is doing super on potty training. She is a pro! And Ellie is as sweet as can be and just adores her Mommy. These two are the sweetest sisters. Dad picked them up at the airport on Thanksgiving and we so enjoyed having them eat with us. The boys shot off rockets after Thanksgiving dinner was done. He and Jessica spent Friday with Jessica's family, enjoying another feast.

We had a good brief visit with Nathan, Jessica, Anna and Ellie on Saturday. Nathan got the oil changed and the car all ready for his trip back. Anne had so much fun playing outdoors, and Nate and Jess ate some dinner at Chipotle and did last minute Korean Years Supply Shopping before they headed out and Nathan set out to get to Idaho.

Dad's Garden
Still harvesting lettuce. Snow peas are beginning to blossom. The warmer spring brought a lot of blossom fall from our citrus trees, so we have significantly less fruit this year. Ethan got the only three pieces of fruit from his favorite tree.

Year of the House Part 2

Other highlights
Spent Monday making a cheeseball, working on place settings, getting stuff ready for the grandkids like making playdough and laminating playdough mats. Tuesday, after taking Morgan to work, I delivered turkey I had cooked to Nano to make her stuffing, grocery shopped, headed home, and cut up vegetables for hours. Wednesday was baking day: a pecan and a pumpkin pie and over six dozen rolls. I froze the gravy I had prepared earlier.

Thanksgiving
Dad and Ethan got Nano in the morning to bring her out here. They had some troubles with her old car that delayed them. Meanwhile, I prepared food, Ethan and Morgan peeled potatoes, and Cameo gave the house a full vacuum. While Dad headed out to Mesa to pick up Nathan and family at the Gateway Airport,  Morgan riced the potatoes, and everyone brought their yummy dishes to make our meal complete. Dad and Nate and family arrived just in time to slice the turkey.
