Week of October 29 - November 4, 2017

Highlights:

Spiritual
Sunday was a lovely day. I indexed, completed my reading of General Conference talks, attended church, had a really spiritual lesson in Sunday School on Family History and taking our ancestors names to the temple, and was greeted at the end of church by our cub scout, Logan Langford, with these...

and this note...

Made my day.

Cub scouts went ...good...on Wednesday, especially since we finally got all seven boys nearly sitting down, and in walks the 11 year old scout leader telling us he is setting up a court of honor. Boys ended up setting up chairs for service and we signed them off without the game they were going to play. Do your best. That's all we can do.

Dad attended the temple on Wednesday evening and performed initiatory ordinances and an endowment ordinance.

I have indexed 31855 records so far this year.

I am listening to a conference talk every day as I exercise. I am in 2 Nephi 8 in the Book of Mormon.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins Family had a wonderful week. School was great! Halloween was so much fun for all of them...

Josh was careful to organize his candy...

On Saturday, they took a very special trip to the Cedar City Utah LDS temple Open House. There is only one time to see a temple without a Temple Recommend, and that is during the open house prior to the dedication. It was a great opportunity for Adam, Grace, Josh and Sam to see the inside of the temple.

Sam started the day with pink eye, but a phone call, a dr visit via cell phone, and a new prescription upon arrival took care of everything. Looks like they had a lovely day...

The Ethan Rice Family
This family had a busy Friday and Saturday before Halloween: McDonough Square Trick or Treat, Shaquille O'Neal Trunk or Treat (he lives 10 minutes away from Ethan and Cam), a Saturday trip to LEGO Discovery Center, and then their ward trunk or treat.

Saturday

Ward Trunk or Treat

Cameo took two white hats, added baby washcloths, and came up with these!Mickey

Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck

On Monday, Kaylee's school had fun activities and a costume parade.

And that night...Trick or Treating!

The Doran Rice Family
We went to Doran and Ambers for Halloween. I made some "Ghoulash" and some Halloween Cupcakes to bring, and we had a fun night in their neck of the woods.

Morgan

Kayty
Kayty had a good work week...work is always better when you can dress in costume!

For A singles Activity

On Halloween

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan and Jessica had a good, and busy week! They called while they were out Trick or Treating. Annalee thought it was great to get candy from everyone, though Nathan is going to spend time next year making sure his daughter knows that chocolate is much better than suckers. Nathan got all enrolled in his next semester classes and got exactly the ones he wanted. He had lots of tests, but made sure he was home to give Jess a bit of a break when she was feeling under the weather. Nathan and Ann called and chatted for a bit on Saturday, and Nathan told us of his quest for hot wings in Rexburg...a very unsuccessful quest. Who ever heard of salt and vinegar wings??

Dad's Garden
Garden is doing well. I even harvested the first lettuce for a salad for him on Saturday evening. We still have rabbits in the yard and they have decimated the north snow pea garden.

Year of the House Part 2
Dad and Wade Wallin were superheroes on Thursday! They got a ton done!!

Other highlights
Worked all week on my village...got it all finished by Saturday night.

Next week: nativities, stockings and living room trees. Then focus on Thanksgiving.
Good weekly shopping trip with Nano.

Not so highlights

Dad's dental appointment wasn't so good. He needs a couple of cavities taken care of. This man flosses about 10 times a day and brushes faithfully. Can't even understand.
