Week of September 26-October 2, 2021

Highlights:

Spiritual
We had a rainy Sunday, which is so rare. Not good for the hair, but good for the heart. We had a good testimony meeting. Dad shared his testimony. Primary class went well. We had a quiet Sunday.

We were able to get appointments to attend the temple this week. I attended an endowment session on Tuesday morning. Dad attended Wednesday evening. He also had a stake leadership meeting on Thursday evening.

My daily morning foundation of General Conference talk(s), prayer, scripture study and Come Follow Me study continues each day.

I have indexed 16,333 records and reviewed 92,261 records so far this year.

Family

The Wilkins Family
The Wilkins family had another crazy week. Allison is working extra hours due to decreased temple staff. Mike is doing well and their cars are all working. The only setback was their car failed windshield inspection and thus Adam couldn't get his driver's license. Grace is doing well in school and is looking forward to her last few tennis matches, a choir concert, and a fun young men/ young women swimming party. (This was written prior to Grace's COVID test, thus the family didn't attendJosh is doing well and had a good time at the homecoming parade for Grace's school. Sam is also doing well and is now the family police officer, issuing tickets for infractions. The house is sold and should close on October 8th and move out is November 1st. They are still looking for their next destination but are positive and hopeful. Sadly, early in the week, Grace was diagnosed with Covid and thus all kids were down and in bed by Friday. Grace has been very very ill, with very high fevers. We are praying for her recovery.

The Ethan Rice Family
Last week, Ethan, Cameo and the kids spent a couple of days at Great Wolf Lodge, and with such nice weather, decided to do some camping and fishing at their favorite spot. This week, Ethan worked hard and got their basement walls finished and painted, ceiling fans installed, and flooring is nearing completion. It looks absolutely amazing!! The kids are well and are loving school.

The Doran Rice Family
Doran, Amber and the kids are doing well and Doran's arm continues to strengthen. They found a truck to replace Doran's ailing vehicle. Work hours are long but jobs are good and school is going well.

Morgan
Morgan had a good week. He worked and took a friend's son fishing for a birthday gift.

Kayty
Kayty had a few days off work and ended up taking her car in to diagnose a check engine light. Rabbits chewing wires cost her over $500 in damages.

The Nathan Rice Family
Nathan, Jessica and the girls had a busy week. Nathan waited days and days for his parts for their car to arrive and they finally did. Engine rebuild complete on Thursday night! They attended their first parent-teacher conference on Thursday morning and I got to play with the girls while they were gone. Nathan and Jess attended the Homecoming football game at his high school. Lots of changes happen in ten years. No marching band anymore. The football team was weak and awful. I guess it's true that you just can't go back. While they were at a game, the girls were here and we played in wet sand, swang on the swings, made a black cat Halloween craft, ate ice cream and played games.

Saturday was full of soccer games and team barbecues as well as General Conference.

Dad's Garden
Dad has planted snow peas, snap peas, collards, swiss chard, spinach and is trying to grow sweet potato slips. Basil and oregano still look well and his small indoor plants are nearing time to place in the ground.

Other highlights
Dad and I took a hike on Monday and Tuesday evenings. The weather was still cool and nice from the rain.

Halloween decorations went up this week.

Dad changed the oil in my car and ordered new motor mounts for his car.
